Two Female Workout Ideas
Two proven workouts for the female body include yoga and dance. Yoga works to both strengthen and lengthen the muscles of the body while improving concentration. Dance provides excellent cardiovascular exercise to boost metabolism while being fun at the same time.
One of the most beneficial yoga poses is the Plank Pose. Begin with hands directly under the shoulders and then lift up through the torso to straighten arms and create a smooth line from the toes on the floor to the top of the head. Hold the pose for as long as possible while breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. Concentrate on pulling the stomach muscles in towards the back while lengthening the entire body.
Another beneficial yoga pose is Down Dog. From the plank position lift the butt into the air creating an upside down “V” with the body. Push the head back towards the knees. Again, hold the pose as long as possible while breathing in through the nose
and out through the mouth. This pose lengthens the leg and back muscles and the inverted position of the body redirects blood flow to improve the complexion.
Dance offers a wide variety of choices — from ballet to hip-hop. Ballet increases muscle tone without adding bulk while more enthusiastic dances like the Charleston or the Salsa provide a more cardiovascular workout. One of the key things to remember is to select a dance that is appealing to the practitioner and to try something new.
When choosing any workout for the female body, always choose one that is fun so it is easier to stick to and feel free to mix it up!
