The Biggest Diet Scam Today

Hi,

Yesterday I promised you the biggest diet scam today.

This is the acai berry scam.  Basically you can lose 100’s of pounds just by taking an acai berry supplement – pill, powder or drink.

Now there is nothing inherently wrong with the acai berry (see pic).  As with all berries they have a lot of great nutrients and health benefits.

However, no berry by itself will help you lose weight.  No matter how great the berry itself might be.

So that is the basics of the scam.  Where the really big scam part stops is when you order the product from a not so reputable dealer.

These dealers intice you by offering a free 30 day supply.  All you have to do is pay shipping and give them your credit card number.

After 30 days you can cancel and no problem.

But, there is a problem.  After 30 days you are charged.  And try and find the number to call to cancel.

In many cases, even if you do cancel, you are still charged anyhow.
As part of my research in various products, I ordered a free trial.   I called after I got the product – about 5 days later – and cancelled.

20 days after my original order I was charged.  And the cost is ridiculous.  It was over $80 for a 30 day supply or almost $2.67 per day.

I finally got my money back, but I had to use rather strong language with the poor clerk.

Many people do not get their money back and the high charges keep piling up month after month.

The scam is so big that even the federal government is looking into it.

I also later found out that these acai berry companies are paying up to $80.00 to Google for adwords campaigns.  No wonder they can afford it when they take your money and don’t let you stop the billing.

If you decide to order anything online from the diet industry, make sure you keep all the contact information – like I did – especially a phone number.

You can also pay with a very low balance credit card that you don’t care if you have to cancel the card.

Anyway, now you know the biggest diet scam today.  Don’t worry though there will always be more!
