One of the most common questions concerning exercise is what to do first – cardio or weights. First of all, if you are doing any exercise at all you need to know you are already doing great. My goal is to help you make the most of your exercise program.

To burn more fat you simply need to burn more calories than you take in.  And you need to do it consistently.

Now your body will fight this.  That is why exercise is so important.  But, just doing cardio or just doing weight lifting might not be enough.

Low intensity cardio for a long period of time (30-60 minutes) will burn calories during that time.  But, it will not burn body fat after the exercise session is over.

Low intensity weight training has the same problem.  However, at least with weight training you have the added benefit of building muscle.  Just this will help you burn more body fat over time.

However, there are much better ways to burn body fat, like higher intensity shorter workouts.  We will be talking more about these in this blog, so stay tuned.

    I found a great diet program a couple of months ago, that helped me lose a load of weight. I was really skeptical at first, as they were going on about wholegrain pasta, as being rubbish for losing weight but then my mate whose a bit a fitness freak explained how bodybuilders eat pasta to put on mass.
