Hi,

This is part 2 of the lose body fat or lose weight debate.

Today, we will look at some of the important hormones affecting your weight loss and body fat loss.

I will just list them first and then go into more detail later.

Adrenaline, cortisol, ghrelin, leptin, glucagon, insulin, testosterone, estrogen, human growth hormone (HGH), and insulin like growth factor (IGF1).

Those are not all of the hormones in the human body, but we can start with them and see where that leads us.

Looking at this list you might notice that there seem to be some opposites. Like ghrelin and leptin. Ghrelin makes you hungry and leptin signals that you are full.

Glucagon helps you burn fat while insulin helps you store fat. Testosterone helps build muscle while cortisol tears it down.

Now those are rather simplistic ways to describe how these hormones affect you, but it does illustrate a simple point.

That you need all of them. You body is like a scale that wants to be perfectly balanced.

If you have too much of one hormone the scale tips in that direction. To get you back to normal you have hormones that counter each other so that you can have a perfectly balanced scale.

Now the examples above just showed a simple interaction. In reality all of your hormones are interacting all the time.

This continual balancing takes place every minute of the day and shows how intricate the body works.

Sometimes the balance goes to far and you can’t get back to the perfectly balanced point. That is when illness, disease and other problems can come out and affect your life.

So your goal is to affect your hormones in the best possible way so that they can indeed help you maintain that perfect balance and premium health.
