Fasting for Cleansing Part 2

Hi,

In our last post about fasting for cleansing we looked at the “need” for our digestive system to rest so it can cleanse the whole body.

In case you haven’t read the last post, the above is sarcasm.  I was referring to an article I read that maintained the above as true.

The article is totally bogus.

But, there was another quote in the article that I wanted to discuss.

This same article went on to talk about the benefits of fasting and how it helps cleanse your whole body.

It does this by helping people lose a couple of pounds of pure gunk that’s been building up inside.

I am sure you have probably seen those infomercials and Internet sites where they show you disgusting pictures of people holding their supposed 5 -8 feet of waste products they got out from one cleansing solution.

Here is the real story.  The product they take is a starch type of material that binds with water.  So the only thing they are taking out is a long string of water bound with the starch and anything attached.

So, yes there is some feces and waste product, but it is not a 5-8 string of crap.

It is indeed possible that it oculd way a couple of pounds, again there is no evidence that fasting can help eliminate or cleanse anything in your intestines.

I will say this however.  Fasting does have some benefits.

The main one is that while you are fasting you are not eating any junk food.  So in that way it can be a benefit.

In the next post I will talk about fasting for weight loss which just might be the latest and greatest fad weight loss gimick.

Stay tuned.

    Hi,
Sorry, but I am not a tech person. I can hardly text on my phone. I don’t know if it is something I have to add to the blog or if the problem is on your end.
