Comparing Different Diets

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could compare different diets to see which one works best for you?

Sure would. But there is a problem.

Not every diet will work for you.

Some will not work at all, some will work okay and some diets will work wonders for you.

But, how do you know which ones will work best for you? Ah, that is the hard part.

And the truth is you won’t know which diet will work the best for you until you try it. And give it a chance to work.

Trying a diet for a few days won’t give you the information you need to evaluate it. Unless, you feel an immediate lack of energy or get sick because of the diet.

I have tried some of those fasting diets and those just kill me. I have absolutely no energy and my immune system is adversly affected.

Every single fasting diet has made me sick. So I – finally – learned not to do them anymore.

But, that is me. Fasting diets are just starting to become a fad again. If it appeals to you, then give it a try.

Just make sure you monitor yourself very closely. This means recording what you do eat, what days you actually fast, how much you drink and how you feel.

Get yourself a small notebook and write down everything about the diet.

No matter what diet you go on, try to stay on it for at least 6 weeks. Make sure you record your weight, body fat levels, how you feel, how strong you feel, what your workouts were and so on.

By writing all of this information down, you will be able to evaluate it with real numbers.

When you do the same with the 2nd diet or 3rd diet you go on, now you will easily be able to compare the numbers.

The reason you are comparing so many things, is because the first diet – if this is your first time going on a diet – will ususally give you a quicker and better weight loss.

This is because you body hasn’t reacted yet to the diet and you will also be losing more water weight in the first couple of weeks of your diet.

And actually a better comparison might be to not count the first week of your diet and start recording the results after week one is over.

Keeping track of your dieting will help you compare different diets and make intelligent choices about what works best for you in the future.

    I’ve been trying to lose weight for years. Actually I have over and over again. It gets old. 🙁 I’m going to try another diet plan, but I’m not sure which one. Have any of you tried the Every Other Day Diet or the Diet Solution Program? If so, how did it work for you?

    Hi Gwen, I would recommend that you not go on another diet. A diet is based upon depriving yourself. Your body, mind and spirit will fight that every step of the way. Besides, diets are designed to be temporary fixes only. That way you can be sold diet after diet after diet.
    A better way to look at it is to ask yourself, how can I enhance or improve my health. Eating more nutrient rich foods and less junk foods over a period of time will help you more than any weight loss diet ever will. Combine that with some exercise that aligns your hormones to burn fat instead of just losing weight and you won’t ever have to diet again.
